The safety of our students is of the upmost importance at Summit. We work with local law enforcement and district safety personnel to develop procedures that keep our children safe with minimal inconvenience. Please adhere to our policies for the safety of your children.

DO NOT enter the drop off zone until 8:10 AM.
DO NOT drop your students off to enter through Door #1, unless they are tardy.
(Due to their age, tardy KG-4th graders must be escorted into the office and signed in by a parent.) ​
DO NOT park on the west end between our two buildings. This area is for drop off only.
DO NOT enter the pick up zone until 3:00 PM.

 1) Car Line - Keep Things Moving

• Do not enter the drop off zone until 8:10 AM. Beginning at this time, students may be dropped off and wait outside in the barricaded area or in the Commons/Community Room until 8:25 AM when the first bell rings.

• Do not be on your phone while going through the drop off zone. 

• Please make sure your students are ready to leave your vehicle once you enter the drop off zone; good-byes said, back pack and lunch gathered, jackets ready, etc. If you find that your child needs a longer good-bye, please utilize our parent short-term parking. 

• You may drop your student off by the green cones in the car line between buildings. 

• Students will enter and leave the buildings through Doors #11 and #15 during drop off and pick up.

• Pickup is from 3:15 PM- 3:30 PM. The pickup zone opens at 3:00 PM - do not arrive before this time. We often have classes working between the buildings and cannot allow traffic in the area until 3:00 PM.

2) Parent Short Term Parking - Help Inside & Long Good-byes​​​​​

• If you need to help your student out of the car OR help them into the Commons, you may park in the short-term parent parking between the buildings on the EAST end.  Short term parking IS NOT to be used simply for dropping off students. This area is only for students who need help inside the building or help transitioning from their car.

• If you enter the Commons to help your student please note that you MUST exit the building and have your car moved by 8:30 AM, as this area closes to all traffic at this time.

• So that we may keep track of who is in the building at all times you MAY NOT go into other areas of the school. If you need to go to the office for any reason, you must drive around, park near the office, and enter through Door #1. 

• Parent Short Term Parking is open from 8-8:30 AM and 3-3:30 PM. There MAY NOT be any cars parked in this area from 8:30 to 3:00.
  

​3) Kindergarten Families ​

• Kindergarten families may park on the north side of the Annex near the playground, walk up to Door #17 and drop off or pick up your kindergarten student and their siblings. 

• If your kindergarten student is tardy, you must bring them to the office through Door #1 and sign them in.

• All other families, 1st-12th grades, must use the designated drop off and pick up zone between the buildings.

Please Note

• All pick up in the afternoon is between the buildings. PLEASE DO NOT ASK YOUR CHILDREN TO MEET YOU ANYWHERE ELSE.

• At the end of the day, weather permitting, students will exit through Doors #11, #13, and #15, and move to the barricaded area while waiting for their name to be called. During inclement weather, all students will remain in their classroom until their name is called over the loudspeaker.

• High school students who drive should park in the front of the main building and enter/exit through Door #2.

• Tardy students should enter Door #1 and check in at the Main Office (KG-4th grade must be escorted by a parent).

• Parents who need to do business in the Main Office may park and enter through Door #1.
