Ms. Alley

Welcome to the 2nd Grade! I am Ms. Alley and I am SO excited to be your teacher this year! This will be my second year of teaching as a JA Jag! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse teaching from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO. I have a labradoodle named Echo and I am a Colorado native. Let’s make this a great year!

Mrs. Ballard

Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Jessica Ballard and I can't wait to be your child's teacher this year. I am excited for everything we are going to learn! We have a fun year ahead :) 

This will be my fourth year at JA as well as my fourth year teaching! I have a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. My favorite subject to participate in is math and my favorite subject to teach is language arts. I love acquiring new skills and can't wait to learn alongside my students this year! 

I got married in February of 2023. My Husband’s name is Brennen. We have two Great Danes named Brandy and Ruby. We also have two kittens named Nutmeg and Nella! I enjoy spending time outside when it snows, reading, taking walks, and spending time with my family :) I am a Colorado native but I love to Travel. My favorite places are London, Paris, and Walt Disney World!

Mrs. Mattie

Welcome to 2nd grade! My name is Lauren Mattie and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! This is my fourth year here at Jefferson Academy, and I absolutely love our school. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services, as well as a Masters of Arts in Teaching; all through the University of Northern Colorado (GO BEARS). I have worked with kids in a variety of settings, such as in childcare and behavior therapy. Teaching is my passion and I love watching students grow and achieve their goals!

I met my husband, Logan, in 2016 and we got married in June of 2023! He works as an aerospace engineer. We have a Portuguese Water Dog named Oscar. I'm sure your children will bring home many funny stories about Oscar (I tend to talk about him a lot)! 

I love being outdoors, and most weekends my family can be found hiking. I enjoy skiing, even though I am not very good at it, and I am currently training for a half and full marathon. 

I cannot wait to get to know all of my students and am always here to help with any questions!

Mrs. Stiveson

Welcome to 2nd Grade! My name is Krista Stiveson, and I will be your child’s teacher in the 2025-2026 school year! This is my seventh year teaching 2nd grade at Jefferson Academy. Before coming to JA, I taught Kindergarten for seven years in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. I graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2011 with a degree in Human Development with an emphasis in Elementary Education.

My husband Matt and I have been married for 15 years. We have three boys together that all attend JA. It's really special working at the same school as my kids!

My goal is to provide a safe, caring, and encouraging environment for your child. One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping to foster the unique qualities and abilities each child brings into our classroom community. I look forward to partnering with you this year! 

Outside of teaching, I love to spend time with my family, adventures outside, trying new foods and restaurants, live music and musicals, and enjoying a good cup of coffee. 

I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child as we journey into the new school year!
