Brendon Feddema

Brendon Feddema is originally from Perth, Australia. He graduated from Regis University with a teaching degree while playing college basketball. He returned to Australia and competed professionally in the Australian Rules Football League. As a teacher in Australia, he taught 4th grade, technology, 2nd and 3rd grade. When he and his wife had their first child, he hung up his cleats and basketball shoes and they headed back to Colorado where he was a teacher and Dean of Students at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette. He was an administrator at Prairie View High School and Middle School, AP and AD at Legacy High School for 11 years, and 2 years as the AP and AD at Jefferson Jr/Sr High. This is Mr. Feddema's 4th year as the Principal of Jefferson Academy. He loves being in this community. The students, staff and community support is amazing. He cannot wait to begin the 26-27 school year.

Arley Blanco
Assistant Principal, Grades K-2
Mrs. Blanco is a transformational educational leader with 15+ years of experience driving school improvement, instructional excellence, and measurable student achievement. As a former Principal, she lead with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, evidence-based instruction, and building high-performing teams. She has a proven record of exceeding CMAS growth targets in Mathematics and leading the implementation of the Science of Reading to strengthen literacy outcomes. Recognized as Educator of the Year (2024), she is known for relational leadership, operational excellence, and creating school cultures where both students and educators thrive. She is Bilingual (English/Spanish), CPI and Science of Reading certified, and brings a calm, solutions-oriented approach to leadership and a deep commitment to equity and student success.
On a personal note, she happily married with 3 wonderful boys/young men who play competitive baseball at the college and high school level and this allows her to travel and see a lot of the country. She is incredibly excited to start this new chapter at JA and cannot wait to have fun with the primary grade levels next year.

Mark Abling
Assistant Principal, Grades 3-6
Mark Abling is a Colorado Native who grew up in Arvada. He attended Colorado State University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History while getting his teaching license. He also has two Master’s Degrees, one in Curriculum and Instruction and the other in Educational Leadership. As a teacher, he taught for 11 years and in two countries. He and his wife, who is also in education, taught in Mexico City for two years and came back to the US to raise their two children close to home. He is entering his 10th year as an administrator and will be working with the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teams this year.
