1. BOD Election Results

Congratulations to Kim Daly and Jeremy DuVall on being elected to the Jefferson Academy Charter Schools School Board! A big thank you to all the parents, staff, and members of our community for your participation in the election and voting process. Without your continued engagement and support, our amazing school could not operate at the high level it does. It is through your input and involvement that this dream continues to grow—thank you! We want to thank all of our school board candidates and we encourage you to stay involved by joining our various subcommittees. The JA Board is excited to welcome our new members at the June board meeting where the new Board members will take their oath of office.

2. Thank You Board Candidates

Thank you to all the candidates who submitted their interest in serving on the JA Board of Directors! We truly appreciate your willingness to get involved and support our school community. While not everyone can serve on the Board, we encourage you to share your time and talents by joining one of our committees. Your passion and dedication to Jefferson Academy are what make our community so special. We’re always looking for committed individuals to help us grow and thrive. Thank you again for stepping up—we value you!

3. JA Foundation

The JA Board of Directors is pleased to release the fully signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the JA Board and the JA Foundation. This agreement allows us to collaborate and secure funding for capital improvement projects that might not otherwise receive support. The JA Foundation, a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is a great avenue for individuals and businesses to make tax-deductible donations. You may recognize them from events like the Jag Jog, the commemorative bricks, and the Community Cares initiatives around the holidays. The JA Board provided the JA foundation with a list of fundraising projects. To learn more about the JA Foundation or to get involved, please visit: https://thefoundationforja.org/

4. Board and Administrations Collaborate in Staff Review Process

School board members recently met with school principals as part of the staff review committee process. The meeting focused on discussing current challenges and identifying areas for improvement. This collaborative effort aimed to ensure board members are in tune with the day to day operations across all of our campuses. Board members and principals exchanged feedback and insights to support professional development, improve student outcomes, and maintain high standards of instruction.

5. Staff Turnover Rates Remain Impressive

Jefferson Academy Charter Schools continue to demonstrate excellent staff retention, reflecting a strong, supportive work environment and a positive school culture. As an organization, we have an average turnover rate of 9% for this school year, compared to 14% at the district level and 23% nationally." This consistency not only strengthens relationships among faculty and students but also enhances the overall quality of education. The board and administration are committed to continuing their efforts to maintain low teacher turnover rates by fostering supportive environments, investing in professional development, and recognizing staff contributions.

Sincerely,

Your JA Board of Directors:

Flavio Quintana, Tristina Pontiakos, Christopher Robbins, Anil Mathai,
