FRONT RANGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The Summit Academy South is proud to offer our students the opportunity to enroll in specific community college classes as part of the Concurrent Enrollment program (CE).  As part of Concurrent Enrollment,  your students' tuition is paid by The Summit Academy South. Students receive credit for these classes both at the college and high school levels.

Summit South students in grades 9-12 can participate in CE at a local community college. Interested students should contact Mrs. Bidwell in the spring for enrollment in the following fall semester's college courses. Students enrolled at The Summit Academy South may choose to participate as full-time or part-time students. Email Mrs. Bidwell with any questions so we can set up a meeting.

Interested in Concurrent Enrollment?

ALL STUDENTS who are interested in Concurrent Enrollment MUST meet with Mrs. Bidwell to review the program. Guidelines for the CE program can be viewed in the CE Family Handbook button below.

  • Students must be enrolled at The Summit Academy South.

  • Students must have proven their academic, organizational, and social maturity while at SAS to qualify for the CE program.

ALL current or new CE students must meet each year in March or April with the Summit Academy South CE Coordinator, Mrs. Bidwell.

  • Courses to be taken at the community college must be pre-approved by SAS.

  • Required paperwork must be turned in on time each semester. Paperwork for the fall semester 2025 is due May 20th to Mrs. Bidwell.

    • The Concurrent Enrollment Agreement form for the community college must be completed each semester.

    • Summit Academy CE Family Agreement Form once a year.

    • ICAP should be reviewed and updated each year to ensure the student is on track to meet graduation requirements.

    • Transcripts should be updated each year to include classes that have been completed.

    • The Full-Time/Part-Time Declaration Form must be completed in September before the October Count.

  • Student Fees are paid by the family to the community college. CE pays for class tuition, but not student fees; colleges post their fees on their websites. Reimbursements, if applicable, will happen per the Full-Time vs Home-based document (see tab below).

Warren Tech

Warren Tech is also an option for the students at The Summit Academy South. Starting in 11th grade, students can apply to be part of Warrent Tech, a Jeffco Technical School. Warren Tech has a lot of career-based opportunities that often provide students with certifications that will help save them time and money post-graduation. There are programs such as EMT, Fire Science, Cosmetology, Building Skills, Auto Mechanics, Physical Therapy, Sound Design, and much more. If your student is interested in applying to Warren Tech, we are here to help. Contact Mrs. Bidwell for more information.

ASCENT Program

Students who have participated in CE can apply for ASCENT.  This is a 5th year of high school in which students only take community college classes. The program provides free tuition to students. There is an application process through Summit. The program is competitive, so please contact Mrs. Bidwell about it before a student's senior year.
